BTA: Finance Minister Proposes December 31 and January 2 to Be Non-working Days Due to Euro Changeover

Due to the euro changeover, Finance Minister Temenuzhka Petkova has proposed that December 31, 2025, and January 2, 2026, are declared as one-time non-working days. This proposal is included in a draft decision of the Council of Ministers, published on the Public Consultation Portal.
The reason for the proposal is the official introduction of the euro as Bulgaria’s currency on January 1, 2026.
