Bulgarian Posts is training over 3000 employees to work with the euro and to handle the exchange of levs into euros at post offices. This was announced today at a briefing by the company’s Deputy Executive Officer, Stanimir Belinov. The company is organizing several types of trainings for its employees who will be working with the euro soon. In addition, more in-depth training sessions are planned for the employees who will be directly involved in the exchange process.

About 300 employees, who have already completed both internal training and external courses at the Center for Qualification and Personnel Development, will train their colleagues across the entire structure of Bulgarian Posts according to a set schedule.

The company’s employees get acquainted with the technical parameters and design of the banknotes and coins of the lev and the euro, as well as with the identification of their security features.

Postal employees involved in the process of exchanging levs to euros, receive additional information on what data is being entered in the existing software, what documents are required from people exchanging levs, and other related matters. After the training is conducted, further actions are taken to ensure that the knowledge and skills acquired during the seminars are applied effectively and sustainably.

"Our employees will be well trained, and 2230 post offices will have counting machines, video surveillance, and all the technical means necessary for the quick, easy, and secure implementation of the exchange process," said the Deputy Executive Officer.

The calculation is based on the fixed exchange rate of the Bulgarian National Bank of the Bulgarian lev to the Euro. 1 EUR = 1.95583 BGN
